Always hot soldering iron

If you race outdoors on cold days, the cold weather can make your soldering iron less efficient. Cut the ends off an aluminum soda can, and wrap the aluminum around the soldering iron holder. Use zip-ties to secure the aluminum. It will act as a shield and deflect the wind to keep your soldering iron hot at all times.
